The great number of beautiful beaches will delight the sea and sand lovers: Vári, Foínikas, Yalissás and Kíni, as well as Possidonia or Dellagrazia, the beach of a village with many neoclassical mansions with colourful orchards.
Agathopes-Komito: Close to Della Grazia (Posidonia) there is Agathopes, a sandy beach with straw umbrellas, shallow clear waters and a view to the rocky islets of Schoinonisi and Strongylo. There is a tavern and a beach bar. At the end of Agathopes you will find the beach of Komito with tamarix trees.
Azolimnos: Small beach with fine pebbles and shallow waters, ideal for families. There are little taverns and cafés.
Ahladi: A small bay next to the beach of Vari with a tavern right by the sea.
Vari: Windless beach with umbrellas. It is preferred by those who own a boat as well.
Galissas: The enclosed bay with the beautiful sandy beach is one of the most cosmopolitan places of the island. You will find cafés, restaurants, and rooms to let.
Delfini: One of the best sandy beaches of the island, awarded with a Blue Flag. It is protected by the north winds. There are taverns and beach bars. The beautiful trekking route that starts north of Kini ends here.
Kini: A favourite destination for many people in the summer. It has clear sea, sand, restaurants and cafés. At its end there is a picturesque fishing port. Close to Kini you can swim on the small beach of Lotos. The chapel of Panagia Lotiani and a small series of trees characterize the scenery. A very interesting trail starts from Kini connecting it to Ermoupoli.
Kokkina: You will go there by walking from Finikas (20 minutes). It has pebbles and red rocks. There are cafés and restaurants.
Megas Gialos: Quiet beach, with tamarix trees which offer their shadow. You can rent a pedalo or a canoe-cayak.
*If you want more seclusion, prefer the beaches Aetos, Lia and Grammata where you can go by boat, by caique from Kini, or by walking from the villages of Epano Meria. In addition, Fokiotrypes beach, where you can go to through the trail that begins from Azolimnos, Ampela, is a quiet windless beach with posidonia, and Armeos, a sandy beach which is an extension of Galissas.
Della Grazia beach (Posidonia): It is part of the big bay of Finikas and it stands out for its wonderful mansion settlement.
Beaches of Ermoupoli
In the town you can swim in Kymata near the port, in the beach of Agios Nikolaos, below the renowned church, in pebbled Talliro, or in the neighbouring beach of Evangelidi in Vaporia.
Santorinioi: Quiet beach, 1.5km from the main road to Vari. You can also experience windsurfing there.
Famprika: Small sandy beach next to Vari. There is a rocky islet right across where you can go swimming. It has an anchorage for boats as well.
Finikas: The big beach of Finikas in the homonymous village. There are hotels, cafés and taverns. It is suitable for water sports.
